Project Overview: The overall aim of this six-month project is to support Mental Health Support Teams [MHSTs] and educational setting to develop and embed a genuine culture of youth participation across specific geographical areas in West Sussex (Bognor and Crawley) and Brighton and Hove.
Key outcomes include:
- A training programme which promotes and embeds a culture of youth participation to ensure the voices of children and young people are at the centre of the work of MHSTs and educational settings
- A youth-led quality assurance ‘charter’ and/or ‘campaign’ including accessibility and the stigma surrounding mental health
- Clear pathways for children and young people to work alongside MHSTs and educational settings to support the delivery and implementation of wellbeing recovery plans in response to the COVID-19 pandemic
- A sustainable model of youth participation based on a core group of youth trainers/volunteers to support the work beyond the remit of this project
