Ed - I’m a youth activist dedicated to working in the community to promote youth voice. I’m passionate about education and mental health awareness, and making sure that students, service users & patients get their voices and stories heard in order to enact change. I’ve held/hold roles in East Sussex and wider, working with East Sussex Youth Cabinet, UK Youth Parliament, East Sussex County Council, NCN World, NHS Sussex Partnership and East Sussex Community Voice.
Throughout my projects, there is a common theme of working with young people to lobby decision-makers and to promote our voices as a collective, and I hope to bring that theme into my role with Priority 1-54, using creative and innovative participation methods to campaign on the issues that affect our generation most.
Indya - My youth voice journey started in 2015 when I was elected on to the East Sussex Youth Cabinet; since then I’ve gained experience in a plethora of roles in the UK Youth Parliament, Plan International UK, 3VA, and the East Sussex County Council. In particular, I’ve found great interest in mental health due to campaigns on improving mental health services for young people as a member of the youth cabinet, and in developing the new mental health support teams in East Sussex. I look forward to extending this support to West Sussex.
